- How many power consumption does it take on the internet radio product?
A: It is low power consumption on this product.
Ans:
Generally the desktop PC power consumption is about 150 Watt and notebook is about 60 Watt.
The one of internet radio products (WR101, WR201 and WR301) is about 5 Watt.
Assume the internet radio is working on 8 hours per day and 365 days per year so that the
total power consumption fee will be about US$ 2.4 per year in USA or NT$50 per year in Taiwan.
- If my ISP (Internet Service Provider) service is based on PPPoE protocol only?
Ans:
For example the HiNet ISP is based on PPPoE only. You need an AP(Access Point) router with PPPoE setting method filled by your Username and Password what ISP given.
- Nothing appears on the display when the WorldRadio switched on.
Ans:
1. If the power is unavailable, check that the WorldRadio power cable is
properly connected and that the power is switched on.
2. If WorldRadio is not known to the network, check that the MAC address for the WorldRadio has been entered correctly in the wireless network's MAC Access Control. Turn off the WorldRadio and turn it on again by unplugging and then plugging the power mains.
3. If Internet is unavailable, check that the Internet access point / router has an active connection to the Internet or not.
- Cannot find an Internet Radio station (message displayed: Connection Down).
Ans:
1. If Internet connectivity is lost, check your internet access (e.g. by opening a browser and refreshing the page).
2. If WorldRadio is not known to the network, check that the MAC address for the WorldRadio has been entered correctly in the wireless network's MAC Access Control. Turn off the WorldRadio and turn it on again by unplugging then plugging the power mains.
3. If Internet is unavailable, check that the Internet access point has an active connection to the Internet.
4. If the wireless network is incorrectly configured, open the WorldRadio PC Utility and select the WorldRadio that has the problem. Click the Profiles button and check that the active profile is correctly configured for your network. Turn on the WorldRadio and ensure that the correct profile has been select
- Cannot connect to an Internet Radio station after pressing “Tune” and an error is displayed.
Ans:
1. You are connected to a station that is running, but it is not currently broadcasting any music. Try again later or choose another station.
2. If the buffer is full (everything else seems normal), wait a few seconds until the buffer clears. If the problem persists, turn off the WorldRadio and turn it on again by unplugging and then plugging the power mains.
3. If the station is not up, try looking up the station's Web site to see if there are any changes. Try a different Internet Radio station.
4. There is a VPN (Virtual Private Network) running on your Router. Disable the VPN while running the WorldRadio. Warning: this may adversely affect other programs and data - proceed with caution.
5. Your Router and the WorldRadio are not on the same subnet. The Router and the WorldRadio must be on the same subnet.
6. The Router has a MAC filter enabled. Add the MAC address of the WorldRadio to the exception list.
7. Your Router does not have DHCP server enabled. Enable the Router's DHCP server function. Or use a different network profile that allows for a fixed IP address.
- The WorldRadio does not react to the Remote Control nor to the Front Panel buttons and hangs in the UPnP Menu structure.
Ans:
This can be caused by network delays when sending out UPnP requests. Wait a few seconds and try again. If the problem persists, turn off the WorldRadio and turn it on again by unplugging then plugging the power mains
- After accessing an Internet Radio station, the device does not playback other Internet Radio stations.

- Cannot find my access point / wireless router.
Ans:
The WorldRadio is out of access point / wireless router's range. Try again by reducing the distance to the access point / wireless router.
- The WorldRadio stops playing the music suddenly.
Ans:
You are connected to a station that is temporarily out of service. Try again later or choose another station.
- Where can I find my WorldRadio settings?
Ans:
Select "Device Status" in the configuration menu. All configuration information and settings can be found here.
- Can I change profile for using the WorldRadio in a different location?
Ans:
Select the "Select Profile" in the configuration menu. You can create and store three personalized profiles in the WorldRadio that can be selected anytime you need them.
- Is it safe listening to the internet radio program on my WorldRadio wirelessly?
Ans:
The WorldRadio if enabled with WEP encryption will be just as safe as other wireless accessing devices; and the WorldRadio will be less likely to be attacked by hackers.
- Cannot hear any audio from the WorldRadio.
Ans:
Turn on the volume.
- How to improve the bandwidth problem when the stutter or buffering happens to the (internet) radio program playing?
Ans:
1. Directly contact your local ISP (Internet Service Provider) in order to apply larger bandwidth, which is strongly suggested to be not less than 1M bps.
2. Connect the internet by using (RJ-45) LAN cord (up to 100M bps) instead of using wifi connection (Max. 51M bps).
3. Login www.radio369.com to check the streaming rates and then select the suitable stations in order to prevent any stutter or buffering problem. However, before this checking action, the user needs to create an account in this website.
- I am hearing a lot of static or interference on the WorldRadio?
Ans:
The internet streaming rate may be too low on the station side. Try again later or choose another station.
- Can I link the WorldRadio to my HiFi system?
Ans:
The WorldRadio has a standard 3.5mm jack at the front panel that can be connected to a hifi or a pair of headphones.
- When the WorldRadio is turned on for the first time after completing the network setting, the WorldRadio restarts. (The display becomes dark suddenly and the device restarts.)
Ans:
There are a lot of parameters needed to be stored to the buffer at the first time configuring the WorldRadio. The device restarts in order to read the initial value.
- When the WorldRadio is configuring to the language selection for the first time, pressing the STANDBY button on the front panel would cause the WorldRadio to hang. However, it will not cause the same problem by using the STANDBY button on the remote control.
Ans:
Do not press the buttons on the front panel when executing the language and the network settings. Turn off the WorldRadio and turn it on again by unplugging and then plugging the power mains. Ensure to follow the network setting procedures step by step referring to the user manual.
- When the WorldRadio is switched on for a period of time, the radio hangs up.
Ans:
Check that the Internet access point / router has an active connection to the Internet. Turn off the WorldRadio and turn it on again by unplugging and then plugging the power mains.
- When turning off the WorldRadio by pressing the STANDBY button, while it is connected to the network wirelessly, the WorldRadio cannot be turned on by pressing the STANDBY button again.

There is a connection problem between wireless router and the WorldRadio. Turn off the WorldRadio and turn it on again by unplugging and then plugging the power mains.
- When the WorldRadio has stored the preferred stations to the four PRESET buttons, and the display keeps showing “Connecting…” right after pressing the PRESET buttons (rapidly and randomly using the front panel or the remote control); the WorldRadio cannot playback any of the Internet Radio stations unless restarting the device.
Ans:
Do not press the PRESET buttons rapidly and randomly, which will cause the failure of the radio operating process. Turn off the WorldRadio and turn it on again by unplugging and then plugging the power mains.
This device is a network product which takes time to connect to the internet, which is unlike the analog radios (AM/FM) with faster radio channel connection.
- The display keeps showing “Connecting…”when listening to an Internet Radio station , and not able to select to a new station.

- When turning on the WorldRadio by pressing the STANDBY button, the last station listened to is played; however, the display freezes by showing the “Connecting…”. The same symptom happened when pressing any other PRESET buttons.

The “Connecting…”message is displayed due to the unstable connection between the WorldRadio and the Internet Radio station selected. It is not allowed to change the other Internet Radio stations under this circumstance. Turn off the WorldRadio and turn it on again by unplugging and then plugging the power mains.
- When turning on the WorldRadio by pressing the STANDBY button on the front panel, the WorldRadio does not start to play from the last station listened to prior to entering the Standby Mode. (The last station that you listened to will be stored to PRESET 0.)
Ans:
There's unstable connection between the WorldRadio and the Internet Radio Station selected. As for your favorite Internet Radio stations, we suggest you to store them to the PRESET buttons or add them to My Favorite.
- After accessing the Internet Radio station “A”, the station “B” is played instead!
Ans:

It will connect to the next station available automatically. (In this case, this is radio station “ B ” )
- Sometimes the PRESET button on the front panel needed to be pressed twice to complete storing the preferred Internet Radio stations.
Ans:
The WorldRadio is preoccupied by streaming the music from the Internet. Press the PRESET button again to proceed the storing.
- The display freezes even the WiFi signal strength is excellent. And there's no response to pressing any of the buttons except for BACK button and TUNE Knob.

- “ Empty” displayed after accessing “Internet Radio” selection from the Home Menu.
Ans:
1. The AP/Router cannot access to the Internet, restart the AP/Router, and check firewall, password and MAC address settings to allow the WorldRadio to connect to the Internet via AP/Router.
2. Or the WiFi connection is weak between the WroldRadio and the AP/Router, reposition the WorldaRadio and the AP/Router to have a stronger WiFi connection.
In either case, turn off the WorldRadio and turn it on again by unplugging and then plugging the power mains.
